Arlene F. Cory

Arlene F. Cory, age 82, wife of the late Walter R. Cory, of Phoenixville, PA, formerly Norristown, PA, passed away on Saturday, August 26, 2017 in the Parkhouse Nursing and Rehabilitation Center, Royersford. Born on January 2, 1935 in Shamokin, PA, she was a daughter of the late Charles and Ella (Tarter) Fetterman. Mrs. Cory was a graduate of Phoenixville High School, class of 1952. She was a member of Haws Avenue United Methodist Church in Norristown for many years, where she volunteered in the Daisy Thrift Shop. She worked as a pre-school teacher for the Penn Christian Academy, retiring after 37 years. She loved working with children, and seeing them many years later in their lives. She enjoyed crafting, reading, gardening, and camping. She was a great cook and baker. She was loved by all she met, and will be greatly missed. Mrs. Cory is survived by two children, Faye A., wife of Albin Zwakenberg of Penryn, CA and Walter R. Jr., husband of Timothea Cory of Phoenixville, PA; five sisters, Pearl, wife of Joseph Sparano of Phoenixville, PA, Virginia Domarasky of Phoenixville, PA, Mabel Schutz of Phoenixville, PA, Sara Rudzik of Phoenixville, PA, and Gloria Hatfield of Chester Springs, PA; four grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by two siblings, Richard, husband of Sandra Fetterman of Royersford, PA and Verna Severson. Relatives and friends are invited to attend her memorial service at the Campbell-Ennis-Klotzbach Funeral Home, Inc, 610 South Main Street, Phoenixville, PA on Saturday, September 9, 2017 at 11:00 am. Officiating will be Rev. Rodney Brailsford. Burial will be held privately. Friends will be received from 10:00 am - 11:00 am Saturday at the funeral home.
