Betty Joan Crater, age 85, wife of the late Arthur Crater, of Pottstown, passed away on Saturday, December 17, 2016 in ManorCare Health Services, Pottstown. Born on August 24, 1931 in Norristown, she was a daughter of the late Raymond and Catherine (Plaine) Hoffman.

Mrs. Crater retired from the Spring-Ford Knitting Company. She enjoyed trips to the casinos to play the slots, crossword puzzles, and playing bingo.

Mrs. Crater is survived by two daughters: Deborah, wife of Dominic Romano, of Plymouth Meeting, and Catherine L. Setzler, of Norristown; son: Raymond H. Allen, of Quakertown; sister: Patricia Rinehart; brother: Robert Hoffman; six grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren. Mrs. Crater was preceded in death by a daughter: Elva M. Allen.
