Dyane A. Alessi

Dyane Alessi-Hodder, RN, of Valley Forge, PA, was welcomed in to Heaven on Saturday, May 2, 2020, from Seasons Hospice in Phoenixville PA. Dyane lived a full and wonderful life for 82 years. She was sent to join her late husband David Hodder, Ph.D., and numerous loved ones who were waiting to greet her. Dyane grew up in the Girard Estates in South Philadelphia, graduated from Southern, an all girls high school, then went off to live on campus and study Nursing at Lankenau Hospital. After graduation, she had a 32 year career at that same hospital. It is where she met her first husband, the late Italo Alessi, and gave birth to her children, daughter Denise A. Perri (Valley Forge, PA) and son Alan R. Alessi (wife Julann Alessi, Spring City, PA). Dyane had a talent for decorating and entertaining. Friends and family always said, "straight out of a magazine", and even teased her about having "show" logs in the fireplace. Her gift was showcased in the amazing parties she hosted. Hundreds of people attended, and left with not only a wonderful experience, but also a great memory. Throughout her life she had an intense love for all animals. As a small girl it was the farm animals around her grandparents home in Limerick PA, and later the family dogs (St. Bernards, Newfoundland's, a Bouvier, Shar Pei and English Mastiffs). As a wife and mother she will be remembered as kind, gentle, brilliant and beautiful. It was her outer beauty that caught your attention and her inner beauty that captured your heart. Dyane so loved her family and friends, especially her children, her step daughters, Nicola Rogers and Suzannah Holbrow (both of the United Kingdom) and grandchildren, Nicholas, Kennedi, Christopher, and Megan, as well as Jennifer, Matthew ,and great-granddaughter Alice (of the UK). We will hold an infinite amount of family memories in our hearts forever. Dyane will be missed by all lucky enough to have spent time with her in this life journey. In this time of social distancing, we will put our Celebration of Life on hold until we can all gather to honor her together. In lieu of flowers we ask that you perform a random act of kindness in her memory as this will ensure her gentle loving soul lives on and on .
