Earlin Snyder,

Earlin L. Snyder, Sr., 84, husband of Elizabeth A. (Madara) Snyder, of Phoenixville, passed away on Wednesday, August 27, 2008, in his residence.? Born in Pottsville, he was a son of the late Earl and Martha (Brown) Snyder. ? Mr. Snyder was a graduate of Pottsville High School, attended Temple University and the University of Munich, and served in the United States Army during World War II.? He and his wife enjoyed traveling across the country seven times. ?They also enjoyed their many trips to Avalon and Nags Head.? At home, he enjoyed woodworking, and making gifts for his grandchildren.? He was employed by Phoenix Steel as Superintendent of Maintenance for 30 years until his 1986 retirement.? ? He was a member of the First United Methodist Church, where he was a former 9th grade Sunday School teacher, and a founding member of the former Church of the Exceptional, a Church for the mentally handicapped.? He was also a member of the Phoenix Lodge #75 F&AM, the Phoenixville American Legion, and a former Cub Scout pack leader.? ? In addition to his loving wife of 62 years, Mr. Snyder is survived by daughters Linda, wife of William Keota, of Reading, Jeanne, wife of Tom Dzedzy, of Phoenixville, sons, David Snyder, of Phoenixville, Earlin Jr., husband of Gay Snyder, of Phoenixville, Daniel Snyder, companion of Amy Florence, of Chadds Ford, and Richard, husband of Mary Snyder, of Gilbertsville, sisters Ruth Fasold, of Pottsville, and June Chivinski, of Orwigsburg, brother Raymond Snyder, of Harrisburg, seventeen grandchildren, three great-grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews.? He was preceded in death by his sister, Mae Schadle.? Relatives and friends are invited to attend the Funeral Service at the Campbell-Ennis-Klotzbach Funeral Home, Inc., Main Street at Fifth Avenue, Phoenixville Wednesday, September 3, 2008, at 12 Noon.? Officiating will be the Rev. Amy C. Smith.? Interment will follow in the Morris Cemetery.? Friends may call from 10 am to 12 Noon at the funeral home.?
