Eugene L. Mariani Jr.

Eugene L. Mariani Jr., age 71, loving husband of Cynthia H. (Greenawald) Mariani, of Phoenixville, Pennsylvania, passed away on Thursday, January 14, 2021 in Phoenixville Hospital. Born on May 1, 1949 in Ridley Park, Pennsylvania, he was the son of the late Eugene L. Mariani, Sr. and Dorothy L. (Herr) Mariani. Mr. Mariani was a graduate of Cardinal O’Hara High School and held a B. S. in Management from York College of Pennsylvania. He enlisted in the United States Marine Corps and after distinguished service was honorably discharged. Mr. Mariani worked for many years in quality control with companies including General Electric Company, Invisible Fence Company, and Community Professional Loudspeakers. He also was an ISO 9000 Registrar Accreditation Board Registered Auditor from 1994 to 2002. Gene had a passion for antique rifles and was considered an expert when it came to restoring and rebuilding a range of classic firearms. He was also known for his ability to repair almost anything mechanical – especially restoring and refurbishing his classic MGC car and with house renovations. Mr. Mariani also had an enthusiasm for history and travel. He was a natural teacher and shared his knowledge spontaneously and freely. He was a member of First Presbyterian Church of Phoenixville. In addition to his loving wife, Mr. Mariani is survived by one daughter, Dana H. Mariani-Lada wife of Samuel C. Lada of Charlottesville, NC; two sisters, Anita L. (Mariani) Martineau of Arlington, VA, and Joan L. (Mariani) Dreyer wife of Steven J. Dreyer of Alexandria, VA; and many nieces, nephews, cousins, and extended family. Relatives and friends are invited to attend his memorial service on Friday, September 24, 2021 at 11:00 am at the First Presbyterian Church of Phoenixville, 145 South Main Street, Phoenixville, PA 19460. There will be a visitation in the church from 10:00 am - 11:00 am. Burial will be held privately.
