Franklin A. Hein

Franklin A. Hein, age 90, husband of the late Rita T. (Wilson) Hein, of Phoenixville, Pennsylvania, passed away at home on Wednesday, June 23, 2021 surrounded by his loving family. Born on July 3, 1930 in Phoenixville, he was a son of the late Mary S. (Fitzcharles) and Oscar R. Hein. Frank was a 1949 graduate of Phoenixville High School where he was on the Wrestling Team and was the Drum Corps Major for the Marching Band. He had a love for horses and horse training, and even had an offer to become a jockey, but his parents wouldn't allow him to quit school. Frank honorably served in the United States Army during the Korean War. He was employed at a job he loved on the open hearth at Phoenix Steel for 33 years until its closure. Frank was quiet and kind, and had an immense love for his family. His wife, children, and home were his life. He was a humble man who enjoyed working in his yard and on his pool and home. He didn't talk a lot, but would sit and take everything in that was going on around him, and he was liked by everyone. Frank was the rock for his family. He helped raise some of his grandchildren and often made them laugh with goofy faces or dances because it was so out of character for him. He would do anything for anyone. Nothing was ever too much trouble for him, and he didn't expect anything in return. Mr. Hein is survived by his daughters: Jeanne, wife of Ray Brostowicz, of Phoenixville and Joni Buckwalter, of Phoenixville; and grandchildren: Sean Buckwalter, Brianna Buckwalter, Rachel Brostowicz and Kelly Brostowicz, all of Phoenixville. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his siblings: Roy Hein, Robert Hein and Dorothy Grady. Relatives and friends are invited to attend his funeral service Tuesday, June 29, 2021 at 10:30 am at the Campbell-Ennis-Klotzbach Funeral Home, Inc, Main Street at Fifth Avenue, Phoenixville. Officiating will be the Rev. Mark Young. Interment will follow in the Philadelphia Memorial Park, Frazer. Friends will be received from 9:30 am - 10:30 am. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Franklin's name to American Lung Association. Arrangements are being handled by the Campbell - Ennis - Klotzbach Funeral Home, Inc.
