Jennette D. Lawrence

Jennette D. Lawrence, wife of the late H. Logan Lawrence, died peacefully on Thursday, October 5, 2017 at The Meadows at Shannondell, Audubon, PA on her 104th birthday. Born on October 5, 1913 in Norwalk, CT the only child of Charles Franklin and Ethel (Wilcox) Dike, she grew up in Joplin, MO. A graduate of Sullins College, Bristol, VA, she then attended the University of Missouri, where she was an art major and member of Pi Beta Phi sorority. In 1935, she married Logan (1912-2003), a Missouri graduate newly employed by the DuPont Company. The couple lived first in Swarthmore, PA, moving thereafter to Wallingford, PA and Wellesley Hills, MA. They returned to Swarthmore for 25 more years, where she was a member of the Women's Club and the Garden Club. On retirement in 1977, they moved to their home on Hilton Head Island, SC, where she was active in Sea Pines Garden Club for many years. They were also members of the First Presbyterian Church, The Sea Pines Plantation Club, Sea Pines Golf Club, and founding members of Bear Creek Golf Club. They moved from Sea Pines to The Cypress in 1992. She returned to Pennsylvania in 2008 to live at Shannondell, near her east coast family. Jennette leaves behind two children, Jan Lawrence Lange of Phoenixville, PA and Harry Logan Lawrence (Sally P.) of Carlsbad, CA; eight dear grandchildren and their spouses: Carolyn C. Lange, Jonathan L. Lange (Danielle O.), Andrew L. Lange (Helen K.), David P. Lange (Annemarie K.), Kristin L. Howard (Michael A.), James L. Lawrence (Sylvia F.), Patrick and Kelly Lawrence; and seventeen great-grandchildren: Matthew and Gregory Pettit; Alexandra, Taylor, Carly, and Kirsten Lange; Jake, Chloe, and Kaia Howard; Amber, Sienna, and Grayson Lawrence; Kieran, Simon, and Evelyn Lange; and Aiden and Morgan Lange.
