Lyse Martin, age 56, beloved wife of Mike DiCarlo for 19 years, of East Coventry, Pennsylvania, passed away surrounded by family at home on Monday, February 5, 2024. Born on June 13, 1967, in Montreal, Quebec, Canada, she was the daughter of Pauline Bois and the late Gabriel Martin.
Lyse moved to the United States in 2004 to join Mike, her love, and start a family. She was a devoted wife, friend, sister, daughter and mother who made family her priority. From the moment her kids were born, Lyse was always there supporting and loving them. She possessed the patience of a saint. It was watching her kids thrive that gave her the most joy in life. Whether it was attending strings or band concerts, basketball games, or especially soccer games, Lyse was an avid fan and supporter of her boys' activities. She spent many years as Matthew and Martin's homeroom mom, and four years on the East Coventry Elementary PTA board as Secretary and Treasurer, planning and coordinating events such as Fall Fun Fair, Pizza Bingo, Field Day, and so much more. Being from Montreal, her first language was French, and both children have embraced the language in school.
Lyse always put others ahead of herself in life. She was kind and caring to everyone she met. Her best friend, Kymbra, recalls how her infectious smile could light up a room. She would do anything she could to put smiles on the faces of others even when she was faced with life's greatest challenges.
The Big Island of Hawaii became Lyse's happy place after her honeymoon visit in 2004. The alien-like lava landscapes and seemingly never ending sunshine were incredible. She especially loved the beautiful Mauna Kea and Hapuna beaches which were breathtakingly gorgeous, and the picturesque Manta restaurant was her all-time favorite. In 2019, she was able to return with her family to share extraordinary experiences with her children.
Lyse is survived by her loving husband Mike; mother Pauline; sons: Matthew Salvatore DiCarlo and Martin Gabriel DiCarlo; brother Patrice Guy Martin; nephews: Yacinthe Martin-Godbout and Laurent Martin ; and niece Beatrice Martin.
A celebration of life will be announced for the Springtime. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Lyse's name to the Inflammatory Breast Cancer Research Foundation ( https://ibcresearch.org/ ).
