Mary Louise Ross

Mary Louise Ross (O'Neill), 79, of Phoenixville, Pennsylvania , passed on Thursday, March 14, 2019. Mary Louise was born to Louis and Helen (Chard) O'Neill on May 6, 1939, in Phoenixville, Pennsylvania. She graduated from Phoenixville High School in 1957 and received a Bachelor's Degree from Immaculata College in 1961. She married William E. (Bill) Ross on July 7, 1962, and together they raised three children in Phoenixville, Pennsylvania. Surviving her in death: her loving husband, Bill and their 3 children: Lawrence Ross (Diane) of Sinking Spring, PA; Elizabeth Meissner (Steven) of North Easton, MA; and Michael Ross (Susan) of Limerick, PA. She also leaves 7 grandchildren - James, Samantha, Christopher, Catherine, Michele, Christine and Carter; 1 great-grandson- Dalton; her sister - Elizabeth Satterfield (William); 2 nieces and 1 nephew to cherish her memory. Her children and extended family remember her continual generosity as one of her best qualities. She was the biggest supporter of all birthdays, graduations, and holidays as she loved to reward and support all her children and grandchildren as much as she could. She was always positive in her support of their life choices at all times and she was always a great listener and supporter for her entire family. She loved family events and occasions and attended as much as possible to involve herself in the lives of her extended family in a positive manner. Her home and later, her apartment, was highlighted by the many framed photographs of her children and grandchildren as she loved all of them equally. All her family knew that they could count on Nana for her support and the entire family continually kept her involved in the family occasions and developments. Mom was an avid gardener and kept her yard beautifully landscaped year-round. She loved fresh flowers and spending time outdoors on the porch or in the yard. Her home was always impeccably decorated for all occasions, seasons and holidays. Throughout their marriage, Mom and Dad enjoyed traveling together. Mom's favorite place being the Grand Canyon, Arizona when they traveled with a tour group and stayed at a hotel right on the edge of the canyon. She was preceded in death by her father, Louis O'Neill and her mother Helen O'Neill (Chard). Mary Louise was an elementary school teacher's aide working with children with special needs until she retired in 2000. She was passionate about making a difference through teaching. Working with special needs children impacted her life greatly. It changed the way she viewed life and gave her purpose. Public viewing is scheduled for Thursday, March 21, 2019 from 9:30-10:45am at St. Ann's Chapel, 604 Main St., with Christian Mass immediately following at 11am and Burial at St. Ann's Cemetery in Phoenixville, Pennsylvania. Father William Donnelly will officiate the ceremony. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to Parkinson's Foundation at www.parkinson.org. The family would also like to thank the staff of Spring Mill Senior Living for their outstanding care and attention given to Mary Louise over the last three years.
