Paul Weiss

Paul M. Weiss, 76, husband of Shirley (Deutsch) Weiss, of East Coventry, formerly Phoenixville, passed away on Sunday, September 27, 2015, in Pottstown Memorial Medical Center. Born in Brooklyn, NY, he was a son of the late Eva (Wagner) and the late Aaron Weiss. Mr. Weiss served in the United States Air Force and had been employed in production control in the aerospace division of General Electric. Mr. Weiss loved his many hobbies. He delighted in studying all things science: astronomy, space and satellites, physics, and Albert Einstein. He explored many different religions through literature. An avid reader, Paul often read two books per week. Paul collected gadgets and knives. Anything he created became known as a "Weiss Device." He relished watching cooking shows and taking his wife to the movies and drive-in. He loved camping and had been a former Assistant Boy Scout leader in the Kimberton area. Paul enjoyed dogs, kites, jazz and reggae, airplanes, model airplanes, air shows, Volkswagens and arriving early. He had a passion for operating ham radios, telling great stories of yesteryear and was often heard saying “let me draw you a map”. Most of all, Paul loved his children and grandchildren, was a faithful husband and devoted caretaker. In addition to his loving wife of 50 years, Mr. Weiss is survived by his sons, Andrew Weiss, of Hatboro, and Brady Weiss, husband of Jennifer, of Phoenixville; grandchildren, Eva, Aaron, Isaac and Regina Weiss; sister-in-law, Judy Weiss, of Parlin, NJ; and nephews, Edward and Anthony Weiss. He was preceded in death by his brother, Louis Weiss. Relatives and friends are invited to attend his funeral service at the Faith Baptist Church, 1015 Livingston Avenue, Phoenixville, on Wednesday, September 30, at 10 am. Interment will follow in the Philadelphia Memorial Park, Frazer. Officiating will be Chaplain Roxanne Kringle and Pastor Jack Tomkinson. Memorial contributions may be made in Paul's name to the Manatawny Manor Benevolent Fund, 30 Old Schuylkill Road, Pottstown, PA 19465.
