Redonia Olivia Coppedge, age 81, passed away on Thursday, July 9, 2020 in the Powerback Rehabilitation, Exton, PA. Born on September 5, 1938 in Kingstree, SC, she was a daughter of the late Nelson and Cornelia (Gamble) Barr. Redonia was the wife of Donald J.L. Coppedge, of Phoenixville, PA. They were married on her birthday in 1959 and remained happily, lovingly and inspirationally together for almost 61 years.

Mrs. Coppedge was a member of the first graduating class of Battery Park High School in Nesmith, SC. She would then go on to Junior College, where she focused on developing her culinary skills. Mrs. Coppedge became a dietician for the Nursing Home facility formally known as the "Charles Johnson Home" where she worked for 25 years. During her tenure she was promoted to Director of Activities, where she retired from what is now known as the Montgomery County Geriatric and Rehabilitation Center.

Redonia was a faithful member of Grimes AME Church in Phoenixville, where she served as the Choir President, a member of the Sons and Daughters of Allen Auxiliary, and the church's Missionary Society. In the community, Mrs. Coppedge was a member of the Red Hat Society, a member of the Phoenixville Area Progressive Club, and The YMCA Ladies Auxiliary, where she served for over 20 years. She received the Community Service Award from the Chaplains Society and the Award of Strength from The Women in Community organization. Redonia enjoyed the numerous community events in Phoenixville alongside her husband, Donald.

As the oldest of eight children, Redonia took pride in guiding her younger siblings with unconditional love, which was her most admirable quality. Redonia's biggest enjoyment was to be with family and friends; she looked forward to attending family reunions. She loved cooking and believed that eating well to stay healthy was important to everyone's wellbeing. She loved to travel with her husband and together, they went on many cruises.

In addition to her husband, Mrs. Coppedge is survived by one son, Daniel L. Coppedge of Phoenixville, PA; two grandchildren, Dayon Smith of Bridgeville, DE and Jaylyn Lopez of Allentown, PA; two great grandchildren, Alivia and Aiyana Smith of Bridgeville DE; Godchildren, Donna Lynn Harrison of Spring City, PA, Jeffery Coppedge of Jeffersonville, PA, Mary Jane Hemming of Mount Royal, NJ, Ashley Wood of Limerick, PA, Michael Bellamy of King of Prussia, PA and Tim Barr of Norristown, PA; four siblings, Ellen Bellamy of Phoenixville, PA, Nelson, husband of Louise Barr of Pottsgrove, PA, Judy Keys of Phoenixville, PA, and Henry Barr of Bethlehem, PA; and a host of nieces and nephews. Mrs. Coppedge was preceded in death by one son, Donald J.L. Coppedge, Jr., and three siblings, Louis Barr, Harry Barr, and Synovia Barr.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend her funeral ceremony at the Campbell-Ennis-Klotzbach Funeral Home, Inc, 610 South Main Street, Phoenixville, Pennsylvania on Friday, July 17, 2020 at 11:00 am. Officiating will be Rev. Dr. Michelle McBeth and Rev. Nathan Coleman. Burial will be held in the Morris Cemetery, Phoenixville, PA. Friends will be received from 9:00 am - 11:00 am Friday at Campbell-Ennis-Klotzbach Funeral Home, Inc. Due to current regulations and CDC guidelines, social distancing and capacity limitation will be followed. Please be considerate of others and a mask is required for entry into the funeral home. An additional memorial service, celebration the life of Mrs. Redonia Coppedge, will be held on Saturday, October 24, 2020 at 4:00 PM at the Bethel Baptist Church, 412 Fairview Street, Phoenixville, PA. The public is invited and encouraged to attend. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in her name to the Grimes AME Church, 338 Morris Street, Phoenixville, PA 19460.
