Mr. Charles L. Dell

September 23, 1937 - April 2, 2022

Charles L. Dell, 84, of Pottstown, passed away peacefully on Saturday, April 2, 2022, at Phoenixville Hospital surrounded by friends and family. He was born on September 23, 1937, in Phoenixville, to the late Charles Q. Dell and LaRue (Sellers) Dell. He was the loving husband of Elizabeth “Betsy” (Wright) Dell, with whom he shared 58 wonderful years of marriage. He was a faithful member of Church of the Epiphany and was involved in many things there, including the church choir and Education for Ministry. Known by many as Mr. Dell, he was a teacher at Tredyffrin Easttown School District, where he taught for 37 years until his retirement. In his free time he loved to read, his favorite genre was legal thrillers, and he particularly enjoyed the work of James Patterson and John Grisham. Following his retirement, Charles served his community delivering Meals on Wheels. He also enjoyed jigsaw puzzles, number puzzles, and playing cards. He was his grandsons’ #1 fan and attended all their sporting events. In addition to his wife Betsy, Charles is survived by his daughter; Melissa Dell Renner, his grandsons; Michael Dell Renner and Thomas Dell Renner, and his siblings; Robert Dell, Bonnie Strickland, and Trudy Mayhan. He is preceded in death by his parents, Charles and LaRue Dell, and his grandparents. Friends and relatives are invited to a visitation on Friday, April 8, 2022 from 10:30am-11:30am at St. James Episcopal Church, 3768 Germantown Pike, Collegeville. A memorial service will begin at 11:30am with a reception to follow.
