Ellen S. Bellamy

Ellen S. (Barr) Bellamy, age 79, of Phoenixville, Pennsylvania, passed away on Sunday, February 6, 2022 in the Temple University Hospital, Philadelphia. Born on December 15, 1942 in Nesmith, South Carolina, she was a daughter of the late Cornelia (Gamble) and Nelson Barr. Ellen was a member of the Drill Team at Phoenixville High School before graduating in 1962 and attended cosmetology school. She was employed for many years at Wyeth Pharmaceuticals, in Malvern, until her retirement, after which, she enjoyed part-time work at Ame Salon and Spa, in Wayne. Ellen loved helping others, was always willing to lend a helping hand and during her career, held a side-job as a caregiver. She was a member of Grimes A.M.E. Church, in Phoenixville, where she sang in the choir, served as an usher and volunteered in the kitchen. She loved following sports, especially basketball and the Philadelphia teams. Ellen loved to travel, but most importantly, she loved time spent with her family, especially at reunions. Ellen is survived by her children: Leticia B., wife of Robert Barrow, of Manassas, VA and Michael J. Bellamy, of Collegeville, PA; grandchildren: Jalen, Myles, Naja, Sydney, Sanaiya, Lebron, and Makaiya; siblings: Nelson Barr, of Collegeville, PA, Judy Keys, of Phoenixville, PA and Henry Barr, of Bethlehem, PA; God-children: Denise Barr, Imani Wright and Rashad Barr; and a host of nieces, nephews and cousins. In addition to her parents, Ellen was preceded in death by her siblings: Redonia Coppedge, Louis Barr, Harry Barr and Synovia Barr. Relatives and friends are invited to attend her funeral service on Friday, February 18, 2022, at 11:00 am, at the Campbell-Ennis-Klotzbach Funeral Home, Inc, Main Street at Fifth Avenue, Phoenixville. Interment will follow in the Morris Cemetery. Friends will be received from 10:00 am - 11:00 am. Arrangements are being handled by the Campbell - Ennis - Klotzbach Funeral Home, Inc., Phoenixville.
