Mr. Franklin R. Sellers

Franklin R. Sellers, age 79, of Collegeville, PA, passed away at Einstein Medical Center of Philadelphia on Sunday, May 1, 2022. Born in Philadelphia, PA, he was the son of the late John and Elizabeth (Bromley) Sellers. He was the loving husband of the late Gayle J. Sellers, with whom he shared 50 loving years of marriage before her passing in 2015. Frank was a former member of St. John’s Evangelical Lutheran Church in Phoenixville. He was a graduate of the Pennsylvania Military College, where he earned his degree in accounting. Frank worked at BF Goodrich, making tires, before transitioning into maintenance for Johnson Controls until his retirement. Frank enjoyed helping people in his free time. He put his handiness to use fixing many things for neighbors, friends, and family. He enjoyed reading spy novels by Clive Cussler, cooking, and walking his dogs. In his younger days Frank loved to golf, play tennis, and dance. Mr. Sellers is survived by two children: John F. Sellers, husband of Genevieve Raymond, of Portland, Oregon; Elizabeth B. “Beth” Sellers, wife of Robert Johnston, of Phoenixville; two siblings: Andy Sellers, John Bromley Sellers; his cousin and surrogate daughter: Jennifer Bristow; five grandchildren: Samuel, Hazel, Daniel, William, Abigail; and several nieces and nephews. In addition to his wife and parents Franklin is preceded in death by a brother, William Sellers, and a beloved uncle Frank Sellers. Relatives and friends are invited to attend the memorial service at the St. John’s Evangelical Lutheran Church, 355 St. John’s Circle, Phoenixville, PA on Sunday, May 8th, 2022 at 3:30 PM. Burial will be held privately at the convenience of the family. Friends will be received from 2:30-3:30PM Sunday afternoon at the Church. In lieu of flowers, memorial gifts may be made in his name to the “National Institute of Mental Health Gift Fund”, 6001 Executive Boulevard, Room 6101, MSC9655m Bethesda, MD 20892-9655.
