Joseph O. McCann

Joseph O. McCann (Joe), age 83, husband of Carole A. (MacMullen) McCann, of Phoenixville, Pennsylvania, passed away on Friday, December 10, 2021 in his residence. Born on January 17, 1938 in Phoenixville, he was the son of the late Jeannette (Raser) and Francis P. McCann. After graduating from Norristown High School, Joe served honorably in the United States Navy. He retired at the age of 50, after 30 years of service as a gas trouble man for Philadelphia Electric Company. In his retirement, he was the owner, and worked alongside his son, of the former J and C Installations, of Phoenixville. Joe was a member of the Keystone Woodturners, the Tuesday Carving Club, the Tricounty Active Adult Center, the Owen J. Roberts Library, a Mason of Phoenix Lodge, a member of Rajah Shriners and the Green Tree Hunt Club. He was an avid reader and car enthusiast, who loved antique cars, especially his MG and Mustang. Joe had a love for food and cooking and enjoyed venturing out to try exciting new restaurants. In addition to his loving wife, Joe is survived by his children: S. Kathy Shantz, of Phoenixville and J. Cory McCann, of Glen Allen, VA; four grandchildren: Casey M. (A.J.) Nuse, R.J. (Rochelle) Shantz, Connor McCann and Carson McCann; four great-grandchildren: Mia Nuse, Aidan Ohst, Jordan Ohst and Lena Nuse; and his sister: Shirley (the late Tom) Johnston, of Emerald Isle, NC. Relatives and friends are invited to attend his memorial service on Saturday, January 22, 2022 at 11:00 am, at Centennial Lutheran Church, 1330 Hares Hill, Kimberton, Pennsylvania. Officiating will be Pastor Charles Evans, Jr. Interment will be held privately. Friends will be received from 10:00 am - 11:00 am at the Church.
