Lillian E. Savage, age 98, wife of the late Harold "Bud" H. Savage, of Royersford, PA, passed away on Tuesday, May 10, 2022 at home. Born on November 23, 1923 in Fairview, NJ, she was a daughter of the late Eugene A. and Sigrid A. (Andersen) Normann. Lillian was a 1941 graduate of Phoenixville High School, and she attended the Norristown Business School. For several years, Lillian worked as a bookkeeper for Marwick, Mitchell & Co. in Philadelphia. Once she and Bud started their family, her full attention was given to raising their children and supporting her household as a homemaker. As the matriarch of the family, she loved keeping up with each of her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren, and loved sending and receiving cards. Beginning at the age of 11, Lillian and her 2 sisters performed together as the Normann sisters singing group. They performed locally at many different banquet and church functions, and by the age of 13, their group had started performing on the radio. She would also go on to join the Harmonettes, which was a group that sang and entertained for the USO. In the year 1942, Lillian became a USO Hostess on Main Street in Phoenixville, PA where all the soldiers from all over the USA would come. She would help the soldiers write letters, take them on picnics to Valley Forge and would also dance with the soldiers at the Valley Forge General Hospital and at the USO on Main Street. Lillian was a member of the Parkerford Baptist Church since 1946. Each day she challenged herself to complete the daily crossword and cryptogram puzzles in the Mercury. She enjoyed knitting and was an avid Phillies fan. Lillian is survived by eight children, Glenn (Carol) Savage of Rock Hill, SC, Sonia Savage of California City, CA, Bradley (Manon) Savage of Doylestown, PA, Ty (Kathy) Savage of Royersford, PA, Joy (Rob) Groff of Limerick, PA, Lisa (Christopher) Henley-Mohler of Pottstown, PA, Kim (Jeffrey) Kulp of Gilbertsville, PA, and Roger (Deb) Savage of Pottstown, PA, twenty-one grandchildren and thirty-two great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by three siblings, her twin sister Sonia Santschi, Sylvia Soper, and Eugene Normann.
