Louis J. Lumi

Louis J. Lumi, 62, husband of Kathleen M. (McCloud) Lumi, of Phoenixville, passed away on Thursday, July 13, 2017 in Seasons Hospice, surrounded by his loving family. Born on March 20, 1955 in Toms River, NJ, he was a son of the late Dorothy (McClean) and Nicholas Lumi. Lou grew up working on the boardwalk in Seaside Heights, NJ. He could often be heard saying, "I stood on a box sweeping quarters as soon as I was old enough to stand on a box and sweep quarters." After receiving his bachelors degree from Moravian College, he was employed for 40 years in sales. Lou could sell anything to anyone and could "sell a ketchup popsicle to a woman in a white dress!" Lou had a love of hockey. He didn't just play hockey, he could be described as a hockey player, coach and mentor. These attributes are what differentiate a hockey player from someone who plays hockey. Lou was also an avid fisherman. He loved time spent with family and great friends fishing, camping and boating. He enjoyed sharing these passions with others. Some of the greatest times of his life were sharing the ice with his son and fishing on the water with his daughter. He was the captain of the Stick Gloves Shirt Hockey Team. He also enjoyed music and playing the guitar. Lou was a member of the executive committee for the Relay For Life of Phoenixville. He spent 3 1/2 years in a clinical trial where he was proud to be the longest term patient in the trial. It was through his experiences with the trial, battling cancer, the Relay For Life and his own life experiences, that Lou became a HERO and INSPRIRATION to all he encountered. Lou was proud that his legacy will be the impact that he had on helping others to continue living and enjoy life. In addition to his wife, Lou is survived by his daughter: Taralynn, wife of Joshua Sandker, of Clementon, NJ; son: Nicholas J., husband of Sarah Lumi, of Nazareth; grandchildren: Riley James, Nathan Louis, Jason Reid and Anna Joan; and siblings: Nicki Lumi, Ellen Lumi, David Lumi and Carrie Lumi, all of of Toms River, NJ. Relatives and friends are invited to attend his funeral mass at St. Ann Chapel, 604 South Main Street, Phoenixville, on Monday, July 17, 2017 at 11:00 am. Officiating will be Rev. John J. Newns. Interment will follow in St. Ann Cemetery. Friends will be received from 5:00 pm - 7:00 pm Sunday evening and from 9:00 am - 10:30 am Monday morning at the Campbell-Ennis-Klotzbach Funeral Home, Inc, Main Street at Fifth Avenue, Phoenixville. March 20, 1955 - July 13, 2017
