Richard W. Sterner, age 80, husband of G. Suzanne (Taylor) Sterner, of Trappe, PA, passed away on Saturday, April 23, 2022 at home. Born on October 16, 1941 in Philadelphia, PA, he was a son of the late William and Ruth (Shepperly) Sterner. Mr. Sterner was a 1960 graduate of Upper Merion High School. Upon graduation, he honorably and proudly served in the United States Air Force from 1960-1964. Mr. Sterner worked for Tastykake, first as a mechanic, and then in the planning and scheduling office prior to his retirement. Mr. Sterner enjoyed working on cars, attending car shows and drag racing events, and building and driving his r/c cars. He was a fan of the Philadelphia Eagles, and was an avid fisherman and small game hunter. He loved riding his Harley and meeting up with his "boys" once a week for breakfast, and going out to dinner with the "crew". Most of all, as the best husband, father, and pop pop, he cherished spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren. In addition to his wife, Mr. Sterner is survived by two children, Scott A. Sterner, fiancé of Colleen White of Royersford, PA and Jill C., wife of Jason Angelides of Wayne, PA; four grandchildren, Maddy, Will, Sophie, and Brooke; one brother, Robert Sterner; and one niece and two nephews, Suzanne, wife of Richard Lally, Bob, husband of Heather Carey, and Patrick, husband of Liz Carey. Relatives and friends are invited to attend his memorial service at the Campbell-Ennis-Klotzbach Funeral Home, Inc., 610 South Main Street, Phoenixville, PA on Saturday, April 30, 2022 at 11:30 am. Officiating will be Rev. David Swift. Burial will be held privately. Friends will be received from 10:30 am - 11:30 am Saturday at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in his name to the American Cancer Society, 1620 Locust Street, Philadelphia, PA 19103.
