Suzanne R. Mason

December 19, 1930 - January 17, 2022

Suzanne Rhem Mason, age 91, wife of the late Francis Gerard "Jerry" MacDonald, of King of Prussia, PA, passed away peacefully at home surrounded by her family on Monday, January 17, 2022. Born on December 19, 1930 in Rhems, SC, she was a daughter of the late John Durant and Sarah (Furlow) Rhem. She is survived by her two children, Al "Trey" Mason, husband of Denise and Melinda Decker, wife of Rob; five grandchildren, Wesley Mason, Parker Mason, Arthur (Jodie Hawk) Russakoff, Alex Russakoff, and Sarah Russakoff. As a young adult, Suzanne put herself through college, completing her undergraduate studies from the University of North Carolina, and receiving her Master's degree in English from Columbia College. She was well read and knowledgeable in many areas. During the 1970's and 1980's, she owned and operated the King of Prussia Duplicate Bridge Club. By adding an addition to her home, she created a place for people to gather and play duplicate bridge for many years. Suzanne achieved the rank of Gold Life Master in duplicate bridge, and played in countless tournaments through the years until her eyesight made that impossible. As a proud conservative, Suzanne stood by her convictions and held fast to the principles of our constitution, the free market, and the ideals upon which this country was founded. She was a lifelong member of the Daughter's of the American Revolution and the United Daughter's of the Confederacy. Spending most of her adult life in King of Prussia, PA during the winter, she and her beloved husband spent the summer months in Arden, Ontario, Canada. They spent 36+ wonderful years together. She was an avid gardener, tending to her gardens in King of Prussia and Arden. She loved fishing, and she especially loved her "critters", feeding any and all wildlife that might come her way. She would have 30+ raccoons visit her daily for their treats, and they undoubtedly will miss her as well. Relatives and friends are invited to attend her funeral ceremony at the Washington Memorial Chapel, Rt. 23, Valley Forge, PA on Thursday, January 27, 2022 at 11:00 am. Officiating will be The Rev. Tommy Thompson. Burial will be held privately. Friends will be received from 10:15 am - 11:00 am Thursday in the Chapel.
