OBITUARY:
A. David Deery, 70, of Phoenixville, passed away on Thursday, July 7, 2011, in the Phoenixville Hospital. Born in Bryn Mawr, he was a son of the late Arthur and Virginia (Baldwin) Deery.
Mr. Deery was a retired English teacher at Allen High School in Allentown. He was a member of the Washington Memorial Chapel where he was the organist and choral director. He was also a former organist and choral director at St. Peter's Episcopal Church in Phoenixville. David was a member of the American Guild of Organist and most of his life revolved around playing the organ.
Mr. Deery is survived by two nephews: Christopher D. Deery of Tulsa, OK and M. Andrew Deery of Phoenixville.
A memorial service will be held on Monday, July 18, 2011, at 11:00 a.m. in the Washington Memorial Chapel, Route 23, Valley Forge National Historical Park, Valley Forge, PA. Officiating will be the Rev. Roy Almquist. Interment will be held privately at the convenience of the family. Friends will be received from 9:30-11:00 a.m. at the Church. In lieu of flowers, memorial gifts may be made in David's name to the Washington Memorial Chapel, P.O. Box 98, Valley Forge, PA 19481.
