Obituary

Alexander "Ollie" DiGuiseppe, Royersford, husband of Catherine (Battaglio) DiGuiseppe, passed away peacefully at Oak Leaf Manor-South in Millersville on December 7, 2019. DiGuiseppe was born in Royersford, PA on December 29, 1929, he was the son of the late Angelina (Leo) and Emidio DiGuiseppe.

DiGuiseppe attended Royersford High School and worked at Royersford Foundry and Machine Company, Inc. for 62 years, most recently as superintendent. He also was a personal lawn caretaker, custodian, bartender, truck driver and milk deliveryman over his lifetime.

He was preceded in death by six siblings Gabriel, Anthony, Donald, Emidio Jr., Josephine and Mary; as well as one son, Emidio Jr.

DiGuiseppe was a life-long member of Sacred Heart Roman Catholic Church of Royersford and most recently St. Philips Roman Catholic Church, Lancaster. He also volunteered as a church usher at Sacred Heart Church for over 30 years. DiGuiseppe was also a former member of the Maria Assunta Lodge, Friendship Fire Company, American-Italian Bocce Club (charter member), Humane Fire Company and Liberty Fire Company.

He loved to travel including destinations such as Italy, Las Vegas, Hawaii, Nashville, California, Florida, New York and several other US states. He enjoyed family vacations to Atlantic City or Ocean City, New Jersey beaches, each summer for over 60 years.

He enjoyed gardening (including 200 tomato plants and 15 rows of green beans, in some years) and lawn work; he was a collector of rare coins, stamps and pocket-watches.

Mr. DiGuiseppe is survived by his two children, Alexander DiGuiseppe (Kathryn), East Fallowfield and Steven DiGuiseppe, Lancaster. He was also the grandfather to Jared DiGuiseppe; Angela (DiGuiseppe) Christman, spouse of Tom Christman and great-grandfather to Brenden DiGuiseppe.

Relatives and friends are invited to a viewing Saturday, December 14, 2019 between 9:30-10:30 a.m. at Catermole-Klotzbach Funeral Home, 600 Washington Street, Royersford. Funeral mass to follow at 11:00 a.m. at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, 838 Walnut St., Royersford. Internment will be in Holy Trinity Cemetery, 1258 Fillmore Street, Phoenixville.
