Alexander C. DiNolfi, age 93, of Phoenixville, PA, passed away on Tuesday, June 27, 2023 in the Sanatoga Center. Born on July 8, 1929 in Norristown, PA, he was a son of Carmella (Torbidone) DiNolfi.

Alex attended Norristown High School before he enlisted and honorably served in the United States Army. He was stationed in Germany during the Korean War. He traveled throughout Europe playing on the baseball and football teams for the military. One of his favorite stories involved his playing baseball with Stan Musial and Dizzy Trout while in Europe. He proudly displays a picture with them at Alex's Tavern.

Alex began his working career as a turnpike employee before operating Thrifty Beverage on the Boulevard in Philadelphia. For more than 40 years, he was the owner of Alex's Tavern on Egypt Road in Phoenixville.

Alex was an avid Philadelphia sports fan, and he himself played in several adult ice hockey leagues in Philadelphia. He vacationed at Lake George every August, traveling to watch the horses in Saratoga, where he could oftentimes be found placing a friendly wager. When he wasn't busy in the Tavern, Alex spent his time at his beach home in Barnegat Beach, NJ.

Alex is survived by one sister, Rose M., wife of the late John Gatlos; one niece and one nephew, Alexandria, wife of the late Richard Dalasio and John Gatlos; and one great-niece, Nicole Dalasio.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend his funeral service at the Campbell-Ennis-Klotzbach Funeral Home, Inc., 610 Main Street, Phoenixville, PA on Wednesday, July 5, 2023 at 11:00 AM. Officiating will be Rev. Thomas Kochenderfer. A private burial will follow. Friends will be received from 9:30 AM-11:00 AM at the funeral home on Wednesday morning. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in his name to St. John's Lutheran Church, 355 Saint John's Circle, Phoenixville, PA 19460.
