Alice M. (Bauman) Long, age 90, wife of the late Marvin C. Long, of North Coventry, passed away on Thursday, September 11, 2025 in the Reading Hospital. Born on April 1, 1935 in Pottstown, PA, she was a daughter of the late Minnie M. (Freed) and Leonard H. Bauman, Sr.

Mrs. Long was a 1953 graduate of North Coventry High School. She went on to receive her bachelor's degree in home economics and dietetics from Penn State University in 1957, and was a 1958 graduate of St. Luke's Hospital Dietetics Internship in New York City.

She worked as a dietitian at the North Penn Hospital from 1958-1959. It was then, as she started her family, that she shifted her focus onto her home and raising her children. As her children started to become adults, she began a career with Burger King in 1977, where she would work until her retirement in 1999.

Since 1963, and continuing until her passing, Mrs. Long tended to her family farm and operated her farm stand of vegetables for the community. She loved gardening, mowing her grass, being outdoors, and was the quintessential country girl.

Mrs. Long is survived by four children, Ann (James) Ray of Littleton, MA, Kenneth (Irene) Long Sr. of North Coventry, Sharon (David) Myer of Chester Springs, PA, and Richard Long at home; seven grandchildren James, Michael (Nicole), Thomas (Allison), Robert, Colton (Rikki), Hunter, and Gannon; six great-grandchildren, Aliya, Kayleigh, Charlotte, Josephine, Anastasia, and Cooper; and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by one grandson, Kenneth J. Long, Jr., and one brother, Leonard H. Bauman, Jr.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend her funeral service at the Cattermole-Klotzbach Funeral Home, 600 Washington Street, Royersford, PA on Wednesday, September 17, 2025 at 11:00 AM. Officiating will be Rev. Mark Muthler. Burial will follow in the East Coventry Mennonite Cemetery. Friends will be received from 9:30 AM-11:00 AM in the funeral home on Wednesday morning. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in her name to Coventry Church, 946 Keen Road, Pottstown, PA 19465 or to Farm Aid, 1655 S. Hanover Street, Pottstown, PA 19465.
