Allan J. Ray, age 40, husband of Amelia M. (Smith) Ray, of Phoenixville, PA, passed away on Monday, January 26, 2026.
Born on August 18, 1985, in Phoenixville, PA, he was the son of Dennis and Barbara (Cutshall) Ray, also of Phoenixville.
Al was a graduate of Phoenixville High School and went on to complete his undergraduate studies at the University of Idaho, where he graduated with honors. He later returned to Pennsylvania to attend the Penn State Dickinson School of Law. During law school, Al served on the editorial board of the Penn State Environmental Law Review and volunteered with Legal Aid of Southeast Pennsylvania.
In January 2012, Al joined Dolan Ray Law, LLC, practicing in Pottstown and Reading. He focused on family law and Social Security Disability law and was widely known as a compassionate advocate who fought tirelessly for his clients' rights. His work and dedication earned him recognition as a Super Lawyers List Rising Star from 2022 through 2025.
Above all else, Al was devoted to his family. He cherished every moment with his daughter, Juniper, who was the center of his world. A loving husband and father, Al will be remembered for his larger-than-life personality, quick humor, and his rare ability to make everyone feel special and welcome. There was never a face or a name he couldn't remember.
Al was an avid animal lover and an enthusiastic gardener. He loved traveling-especially to the Caribbean, and diving headfirst into more passion projects than most people would dare.
In addition to his wife and parents, Al is survived by his daughter, Juniper Margaret Ray; his brother, Nicholas Ray; his in-laws, William K. Smith Jr. and Michelle Smith; his sister-in-law, Megan Smith, wife of Zachary Knezo; and his nephew, William Knezo.
