Ambrose Robert Malenke of Spring City, PA, joined his Father in Heaven on Friday, May 13, 2022, at 91 years of age. He passed away peacefully in his home, which he built himself 68 years ago.

Born on February 4, 1931, in Parkerford, PA, he was a son of the late William A. and Elsie (Scholl) Malenke.

He was preceded in death by his beloved wife of 67 years, Doris May (Bortz) Malenke, his second daughter, Pamela, and three siblings, Bette Carroll, First Lt. Bruce Malenke, and Jacob Malenke.

He is survived by three children: daughter Debra Witowski, daughter Cynthia Yeager, (David), son William Malenke (Kim), and two brothers, Parker Ford Malenke and Galen Malenke.

He was a proud "Grandpop" of nine grandchildren: Elizabeth, Alexander, Amanda, Benjamin, Ethan, Jordan, Ryan, Kirsten, and Chase; and a "Great Grandpop" of eight great-grandchildren: Everly, Jack, Colton, Caiden, Anastasia, Sutton, Tenley, and Summer.

Amby attended Williamson Trade School, (now Williamson College of the Trades) and worked as a self-employed general contractor under the name of Ambrose R. Malenke Builder for many years.

He was an active member of Calvary Bible Church in Phoenixville (now Grace Valley Fellowship), where he taught Sunday school, served as a Deacon, and was the emcee for the Lamplighter's senior ministry for over 20 years. He was a member of the Valley Forge Christian Academy school board for 12 years and taught Bible study at Manatawny Manor in Pottstown for several years.

Amby lived his 91 years of life to the fullest. He was inquisitive; always asking questions, reading, and learning. He enjoyed woodworking, gardening, and raising Golden Retrievers; his family will fondly remember him with a beautiful golden dog at his side.

He was an avid traveler and had visited all 50 States, 5 continents, most of the provinces in Canada, and, at 88 years old, checked Norway and the Northern Lights off his bucket list. He motor homed and snowmobiled, rafted down the Colorado River, and rode the Orient Express, regaling his grandchildren over the years with tales of his travels.

Amby was a family man. He was present for just about every special event in the lives of his family—holidays and birthdays, sports games, graduations, weddings, and summer vacations in the Outer Banks and Lake Wallenpaupack.

No matter his circumstances, Amby remained positive, thankful, and content, truly embodying 1 Timothy 6:6-7 "For godliness with contentment is of great gain." He was faithful and charming. Sturdy but gentle. A hard worker and one of the kindest people you'd ever meet. He had a wonderful deep voice, warm smile, and gave the biggest bear hugs.

He will be dearly missed.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend a Celebration of Life service at Grace Valley Fellowship (GVF), 110 Valley Park Road, Phoenixville, PA, on Friday, May 20, 2022 at 10:30 am. Officiating will be Pastor Paul Anderson and Pastor James Bracelin. Burial will follow in the Brownback's United Church of Christ Cemetery, Spring City, PA. Friends will be received from 9:00-10:15 am at the church.
