Andrea B Brown, 75 of Oaks passed peacefully after enduring a several month illness.
She was born Andrea Fakete on July 20, 1948 in Phoenixville to the late Andrew Fakete and the late Beatrice Collemacine, then later adopted by the late Louis "Red" Beattie. She spent most of her entire life in the Phoenixville and Oaks areas spending much of her early life surrounded by her beloved grandparents, aunts and uncles.

She attended the Green Tree Church of the Brethren from a young age and was a faithful member up until her death. She spent most of her time serving the church family and community. From a young age as a youth helper to create and teach the crafts for VBS for many years; gardening (creating a gorgeous rose garden in the church yard), painting, leading commissions, sewing curtains, cleaning, serving meals and in many other "behind-the-scenes" ways, as she was never one to want the limelight. Andrea received the silent Saint award in 2021.

At her invitation to the church's youth group fall hayride, she initiated the courtship of the love of her life, her surviving husband, Chuck Brown, who she was married to for 54 years on July 12th.

She and Chuck expanded their family with 2 children , Karin (Brown) VanLandeghem and Christopher Brown, their spouses, Edward Vanlandeghem and Renae Brown, 5 grandchildren, Moriah (Vanlandeghem) Yost (wife of Caleb Yost), Jillian Vanlandeghem, Denali Brown, Sedona Brown, McKinley Brown, a great grandson Oliver Yost and another great grandchild expected in February 2024.

Her world revolved around her family, she and Chuck spent as much time as possible coaching their daughter's softball teams, traveling to baseball games to watch their son play, helping their children establish their homes and lives, camping, welcoming grandchildren, purchasing a boat to invite and spend time with family and friends, traveling to support their grandchildren's activities, and most recently purchasing an RV to travel.

Andrea enjoyed traveling and they took every opportunity to explore this beautiful world with some favorites: cruises to Budapest, Hungary along the Danube, Panama Canal, Nova Scotia, Bermuda, trips to Great Britain, the Grand Canyon, New England, to ski in France, Austria, Switzerland, Utah, Vermont, and special "surprise" trips with the grandchildren to Disney World. She really got around! She was disappointed that her illness kept her from experiencing excursions to explore the national parks of the US in their RV.

When she wasn't traveling, raising her family, beautifying her own home inside and outside, gardening, enjoying the oasis they created at their home, or serving at the church, she worked as the secretary and assistant to Chuck at the family business, Coleman & Schmidt Inc., Norristown. In her early career, she worked in civil service for the army hospital in Valley Forge during the Vietnam War, and at Fort Dix, when Chuck's job took them to NJ for about a year after they were first married.

Her other hobbies included bird watching, antiquing, cars, cooking, baking, dancing, and sewing, for which she made clothes for her children and grandchildren, curtains for the church, bagpipe covers for the bagpipe band Chuck was part of, Boy Scout scarves for her son's troop, & quillows (pillows that convert to a small quilt) to give as gifts.

She is survived by her husband, children, grandchildren, her sister, Linda Collins (wife of J. Terry), a brother, Drew Fakete, step siblings Sandy Mattingly, Paul Mattingly, many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends that are like family.

A celebration of her life will be held at Green Tree Church of the Brethren 1078 Egypt Road in Oaks, PA on Friday October 27, 2023. Visitation 10:00 am, service at 11:00 am, followed by graveside service and a luncheon to celebrate Andrea's life.

Interment will be at Green Tree Church of the Brethren cemetery but she has been reunited with her Lord Jesus and all her loved ones that have gone before.

In lieu of flowers, Memorial contributions may be made to the Green Tree Church of the Brethren Memorial Fund in Andrea's name.
