Angelo Verduci, age 78, husband of Anna Verduci, of Phoenixville, PA, passed away on Thursday, March 1, 2018 in the Paoli Hospital. Born on June 18, 1939 in Reggio Calabria, Italy, he was a son of the late Paolo and Carmela (Azzara) Verduci.
Mr. Verduci was a member of St. Basil the Great Roman Catholic Church in Kimberton, PA. He worked as a stone mason, working for and retiring from West Chester University after 25 years. He was an expert winemaker, and enjoyed gardening and fishing. He was a long-time member of the Italian Social Club in West Chester, where he was active on several bocce teams.
In addition to his wife of almost 50 years, Mr. Verduci is survived by two children, Carmela Verduci and Paul Verduci, both of Phoenixville, PA; Paul's fiance Nellie; and two granddaughters, Mia and Cara Verduci; seven surviving brothers, sisters, and their spouses in Italy, two brothers-in-law, two sisters-in-law living in the US, and several nieces and nephews in the US and abroad. Mr. Verduci was preceded in death by one grandson, Alexander Verduci, and one brother, Policarpio Verduci.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend his funeral mass at St. Basil the Great R.C. Church, 2300 Kimberton Road, Kimberton, Pennsylvania on Monday, March 5, 2018 at 11:00 am. Officiating will be Rev. Gary T. Pacitti. Burial will be held in the St. Ann Cemetery, Phoenixville, PA. Friends will be received from 9:30 am - 10:45 am at the church.
