Ann E. (Graten) Evans, age 73, wife of Harry R. Evans, of Phoenixville, PA died Thursday morning, May 14, 2009 in her home. Born in Phoenixville, she was a daughter of the late John A. and Elizabeth A. (O'Brien) Graten. Mrs. Evans graduated from the Phoenixville High School in 1955. She worked for the Spring City Knitting Company for 18 years. She then worked for over 24 years as a housekeeper for the Phoenixville Hospital before retiring in 2001. She was a member of the St. Ann R.C. Church in Phoenixville.
In addition to her husband of 55 years, Mrs. Evans is survived by one son; Larry R., husband of Kelly (Harris) Evans, of Seattle, Washington, one daughter Jacalyn A. Evans, of Valley Forge, PA, three Grandchildren; Christopher, Hillary, Alexander Evans, of Seattle, one sister; Maureen, wife of William Vitabile, and several nieces and nephews. Mrs. Evans was pre-deceased by one brother; Jack Graten.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend the Memorial Service at the Campbell - Ennis - Klotzbach Funeral Home, Inc., Main Street at Fifth Avenue, Phoenixville, PA on Monday morning, May 18, 2009 at 11:00AM. Officiating will be the Rev. John J. Newns. Friends will be received from 10-11AM, Monday morning at the funeral home. Burial will be in the St. Ann Cemetery.
