Ann C. Sanders, of Spring City, PA, wife of the late Norman M. Sanders, died Sunday, October 4, 2015 in Manatawny Manor, East Coventry Township, PA. Born on July 26, 1935 in Washington, North Carolina, she was a daughter of Thomas and Lucy Clemmons. She was educated in the Washington, NC school system. Mrs. Sanders received both a Bachelor's Degree in early childhood education and a Master's Equivalent from Southern Connecticut State University. She taught for 45 years cumulatively in Headstart and public schools of Ansonia, CT, New Haven. CT, and Baltimore, MD.
Mrs. Sanders was very active at Bethel United Methodist Church in Spring City in the United Methodist Women's Book Club, Vacation Bible School, Sunday school, and Bethel United Seniors. She also helped to deliver Meals on Wheels and participated with the East Coventry Union of Churches.
Mrs. Sanders is survived by four Daughters, Jacqueline A. Hines of Spring City, PA, Norma Beamon (Philip, Sr.) of New Haven, CT, Carolyn Patricia Sanders of New Haven, CT, Charlene Sanders of Hampton, VA; Son, Solomon Sanders of Ansonia, CT; sister Carolyn Smith, brother William Clemmons and sister-in-law Ann Clemmons of Connecticut; Nineteen Grandchildren; Fourteen Great-Grandchildren; Mrs. Sanders was pre-deceased by her Brother, James Daniel Clemmons Maurice Earls (grandson) and Jada Bell (great grand daughter.)
Mrs. Sanders was very involved in her home community in Connecticut and with her Bethel United Methodist Family in Spring City. Her family has decided to have two separate memorial services in both areas. The first Memorial Service will be held at Bethel United Methodist Church, 952 Bethel Church Road, Spring City, PA on Sunday, October 11, 2015 at 3:00 pm, with visitation immediately prior to the service from 2-3 pm. Officiating will be the Rev. Fawn Brunson of Baltimore. The second service will be held at the Star of Bethlehem Church, 18 Lester Street, Ansonia, CT 06401, on Tuesday, October 13, 2015 at 5 pm, with visitation immediately prior to the service from 4-5 pm.
