Anna May (Slemmer) Houck, age 87, wife of the late C. Allen Houck, passed away on Friday, January 15, 2016. A longtime resident of Birchrunville, she was born on January 15, 1929 in Phoenixville, Pa, to the late D. Sidney and Dorothy (Beitler) Slemmer. Mrs. Houck was a member of St. Peter's Pikeland United Church of Christ in Chester Springs. She had owned and operated the Birchrunville Store for many years, and retired as the Postmaster of Birchrunville after 28 years.

Mrs. Houck is survived by one son, Richard A., husband of Susan E. (Gregory) Houck of Leola, PA; four siblings, Joan, wife of Dr. Donald Harrop, Joyce, wife of Martin Blumenthal, Sydney Cagle, and Sandy Miller; five grandchildren, Tracy Weirich, Stacy Houck, Jennifer Miller, Jason Houck, Jeremy Houck; and fifteen great grandchildren. Mrs. Houck was preceded in death by one son, Daniel S. Houck.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend her funeral service at St. Peter's Pikeland United Church of Christ, 1193 Clover Mill Road, Chester Springs, PA 19425 on Thursday, January 21, 2016 at 11:00 AM. Officiating will be Rev. Douglas Hanson. Burial will be held in the Church cemetery. Friends will be received from 9:30 AM - 10:45 AM at the Church.
