Anna Mae Yurkanin, age 87, passed away on Friday, February 16, 2024. Born in Tresckow, PA she was the daughter of Gustina (nee Gonda) and George Yurkanin.
Anna Mae was a graduate of West Hazleton High School and retired as an Administrative Assistant at St. Mary of the Assumption Catholic Church in Phoenixville. She enjoyed sewing, trivia, playing cards with friends and spending time with her family. Anna Mae's passion was her family and her stories were spectacular, from huckleberry picking as a child to all of her grandchildren's successes. She was very proud of her heritage, where she came from and whom she had become.
Anna Mae is survived by her loving children, David (Cheryl) Fischer and Robert (Linda) Fischer. Her four grandchildren; Michael (Desiree), Christina, Sarah Lang (James), Robbie, and two great grandchildren; Maria and Colleen along with a third great granddaughter expected in April. She is also survived by two siblings; Thomas (Jane) Yurkanin and Irene Lazarsky. She was preceded in death by 12 siblings; Mary, John, George, Helen, Joseph, Frank, Andrew, Michael, Dorothy, Patrick, August, Catherine.
Friends will be received from 9:00 am to 10:00 am at St. Mary of the Assumption Church and are invited to attend her funeral service at St. Mary of the Assumption Church, 212 Dayton St., Phoenixville, PA. 19460 on Thursday February 22, 2024, at 10 am. Rev. John Hutter will be officiating. Burial will follow in the Calvary Cemetery, 49 S Hunter Hwy, Drums, PA 18222. Memorial contributions may be made to www.honorflight.org.
