Obituary

Antal G. Di Sandri 91, of Phoenixville, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, March 17, 2010, with his loving wife of 58 years, Judith E. Di Sandri, by his side. Born in Budapest, Hungary he was the son of the late Viktor and Klara Di Sandri.

Mr. Di Sandri fled his native homeland with his family during the Hungarian Revolution in 1956 and lived the remaining years of his life in the Phoenixville area. He was active as a coach and mentor in PMYC athletics during the 1960's and was member of the Sacred Heart Church in Phoenixville. He retired from Wyeth Laboratories in Great Valley where he was employed as a research assistant for 17 years. He was also an active member of the former Hungarian American Citizens Club in Phoenixville and the Philadelphia and Vicinity Sports Club in Hereford, PA.

A caring, loving husband and father, he will be remembered by his family and friends for his quick wit and humor, zest for life, and a golden baritone voice that resonated over family gatherings for many, many years.

In addition to his loving wife of 58 years, Mr. Di Sandri is survived by his son, Anthony J. Di Sandri, three grandchildren, Katie, Lauren and Alex Bruce, and a sister, Viktoria Fodor, of Budapest, Hungary. He was preceded in death by his daughter, Judith A. Bruce, wife of the David C. Bruce of Wayne, PA.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend the funeral mass at the Sacred Heart Roman Catholic Church, 148 Church Street, Phoenixville, PA 19460 on Saturday, March 27, 2010 at 12:00 p.m. Friends may call from 11:00-12:00 PM on Saturday at the Church. Arrangements are being handled by the Campbell-Ennis-Klotzbach Funeral Home, Inc., Phoenixville.
