Anthony M. DeSimone, 83, of Phoenixville, passed away on Saturday, August 25, 2012 at Phoenixville Hospital. He was the husband of Cherie E. (Sterling) DeSimone.

He was born in Philadelphia to the late Dominic and Elizabeth (Gentile) DeSimone. Anthony graduated from South Philadelphia High School, Rudimar Beauty School and Tyler School of Music. After his service in the Air Force in the Korean War, he came home and owned and operated Talmone Beauty Salon of Phoenixville.

He was a member of St. Ann Church, Phoenixville, PA. A gifted musician, he played saxophone and sang locally with the band Just Friends.

In addition to his wife of fifty-six years, he is survived by sons: Ross S. DeSimone and wife Karen, of Collegeville and Douglas M. DeSimone and wife Karen, of Spring City; grandchildren: Madeline, Victoria, Savannah, Austin, Alexandria and Sophia DeSimone; sisters: Rita Marconi, widow of Donald, of Philadelphia; Isabelle Delassandro, widow of Louis, of South Jersey; Jennie Mira, widow of Anthony, of Springfield and several nieces and nephews. He was also preceded in death by siblings: Joseph, Nicholas, Clara Rossi and Christine Camallera.

His funeral mass will be held on Thursday, August 30, 2012 at 11:00 AM at St. Ann Chapel, 604 S. Main St. Phoenixville, PA 19460. Officiating will be Rev. John J. Newns. Burial will be in St. Ann Cemetery. A viewing will be held on Thursday morning from 9-10:30 at Campbell-Ennis-Klotzbach Funeral Home, Main Street at Fifth Avenue, Phoenixville, PA. In lieu of flowers, contributions in Anthony's memory can be sent to Jaworski's Music Center, 175 Bridge St. Phoenixville, PA to fund a scholarship for saxophone musicians.
