Anthony Allen Edwards, born March 20, 1957 to James Simon & Annie Bell Edwards in Hartsville, S.C, departed this life on Sunday morning, October 18, 2020 at Phoenixville Hospital. The husband of Cheryl Sutton Edwards, Anthony spent all of his adult life in Phoenixville, PA. A graduate of Hartsville High School, Hartsville S.C., class of 1975, he moved to Phoenixville shortly thereafter.

Anthony was employed at John R Hollingsworth Co as a welder for many years and then began a tenure working for his older brother, Bobby, owner of Josey Janitorial Services. He was last employed as a part time custodian at Victory Church. His health declined to the point where he became eligible for Social Security Disability and at that point he began staying home and taking care of his grandsons.

An avid fisherman and hunter, it was frequently seen in FB posts from his wife, Cheryl, the fruits of his efforts. Anthony enjoyed cooking, so meals he made could also be seen on FB. He also watched plenty of sports, especially football.

In addition to his wife Cheryl of 34 years, Anthony leaves behind three children, Natosha, West Chester PA, Sharday, Phoenixville PA, and Anthony Jr, Spring City, PA. Eight grandsons, Edward Webster III, Kyrie Webster, Azir Jacobs, Samari Syed, Adrian Edwards, Amauri Edwards, Aubrii Edwards, and August Edwards. He also leaves 11 siblings, Pecolia Josey Grove, Cleveland Josey, Linda Edwards Haynesworth, all of Hartsville, S.C., James Ray Edwards (Elouise) of Effingham, S.C., Larry L. Edwards of Knoxville, Tennessee, Ted Josey (Sandy), of Pottstown, PA, Ruby D. Bass & Sarah Josey Thompson of Schwenksville, PA, Bobby L. Josey (Minnie) of North Wales, PA and Eugene Edwards (Shirley), Atlanta GA. Two brother-in-laws, Robert Sutton, Downingtown, PA and Barry Sutton of Douglasville, GA. He was preceded in death by his parents, brothers, Robert, James Jr, Joseph, Timothy and one sister, Nannie Lee Edwards Robinson. Anthony also leaves a multitude of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends to cherish his memory.

Instructions

Services for Anthony Allen Edwards will be held October 23, 2020 at Campbell-Ennis-Klotzbach Funeral Home located at 610 Main Street Phoenixville, Pa 19460.

There will be a public viewing from 9:00 am to 10:45 am. Services will begin immediately following the viewing. Interment will follow the service in Morris Cemetery and will be open to all family and friends at approximately 12:15 pm.

Attendees of the funeral service itself are limited to family and a few close (invited) personal friends.
