Anthony Franz, age 59, beloved husband of Kelly (McFarland) Wilson, of Royersford, PA, passed away on Wednesday, February 11, 2026 in the Phoenixville Hospital after a courageous battle with cancer. Born on September 26, 1966 in Pottstown, PA, he was a son of the late William Franz and Eloise (Menegat) Franz of Spring City, PA. Tony was a 1984 graduate of St. Pius X High School in Pottstown. Following graduation, he worked as a manager at Rickels in Pottstown.
Tony would then go on to begin his career in emergency services, which spanned more than 30 years. He served his community as a Firefighter and an EMT at the Humane and Friendship Fire Companies in Royersford, Liberty Steam Fire Engine Co. No. 1 in Spring City, Lower Frederick Fire Company, Plymouth Ambulance, and Phoenix Hose, Hook, and Ladder Co. No. 1 in Phoenixville. Tony also served in Iraq for a year as a contract firefighter and EMT. Most recently, Tony worked as a contractor for several years for the EPA, and he was currently employed as a procurement analyst for Shields Facilities Management in Blue Bell. Tony was also the proud owner of the former Uncle Tony's Pizza in Spring City.
Tony was also the driving force behind fundraising at many of the fire companies and departments he volunteered or worked with. He was the chairperson for several golf outings and toy drives over the years and assisted with community outreach a well.
Family and friends were important to Tony, and he cherished spending time with them. He enjoyed camping, especially in Sea Isle City, NJ, scuba diving, and watching his Phillies and Eagles.
Tony is survived by three sons, Ryan Franz, Tyler Franz, and Zach Franz; three step-children, John, husband of Kelly Wilson, Nicole Wilson, and Haley Wilson; and he was a loving Grandpa to John and Macy.
