Anthony J. Asmann, age 83, husband of the late Frances A. (O'Connell) Asmann, of Douglassville, PA, formerly of Media, PA, died Tuesday morning, September 10, 2013 in the Manatawny Manor Nursing Home, East Coventry Township, PA. Born in Philadelphia, he was a son of the late Anthony H. and Katherine (Hertz) Asmann. He was graduate of the Villanova University and prominent survey statistician for National Analysts. Mr. Asmann was a loving husband, caring father, and devoted grandfather. He was an avid gardener and fervent college basketball and Phillies fan. He had a lifelong love of music and was a long-time member of the Saint Francis Adult Band. He also greatly enjoyed travel and competitive swimming. In his spare time, you could find him weeding the garden or tinkering with one of his inventions.

Mr. Asmann is survived by four children: Anthony F. (Anne) Asmann, of Chester Springs, PA; Diane G. (Bob) Zeller, of Limerick, PA; Gerilyn L. (Harry) Copper, of Purgitsville, PA; David G., (Monique) Asmann, of Harleysville, PA; one sister: Catherine, wife of the late Wendell Jennings, of Dorchester, NJ; eight grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend the funeral Mass at the Sacred Heart Roman Catholic Church, Lewis Road at Walnut Street, Royersford, PA on Saturday September 14, 2013 at 10:00 AM. Officiating will be the Rev. Peter J. DiMaria. Burial will be in the Sts. Peter and Paul R.C. Cemetery, Springfield, PA. Friends will be received from 8:45 - 9:45 AM Saturday morning at the Church. In lieu of flowers, memorial gifts may be made in his name to the Alzheimer's Association, 399 Market Street, Suite 102, Philadelphia, PA 19106.
