Anthony L. Mungin Jr.

Anthony L. Mungin Jr., age 74, husband of Alice C. (Fey) Mungin, of Royersford, PA, passed away on Friday, December 27, 2019 in Southeastern Veterans' Center, Spring City, PA. Born on March 8, 1945 in Phoenixville, PA, he was a son of the late Anthony Sr. and Kathryn (Yost) Mungin. Mr. Mungin was a graduate of Spring-Ford High School, where he earned MVP while a member of the football team. Prior to serving in the United States Army during the Vietnam War, he attended Pierce Junior College. Mr. Mungin worked for Diamond Glass, first as a purchasing agent, and then for the credit union. He would go on to work for Superior Credit Union, and finally worked for the Spring-Ford School District as a janitor, a job he had a passion for. He enjoyed watching, coaching, and playing sports throughout his entire life. He was a Lower Perkiomen Youth Football coach, and also a baseball coach for the Spring-Ford Youth Athletic League. He enjoyed fishing and listening to many genres of music, including country music most recently. Above all else was family. From 1977-2001, he and his wife Alice were foster parents to over one hundred children, and during that time, had been named as "Foster Parents of the Year" for two consecutive years. In addition to his wife, Mr. Mungin is survived by twelve children, Lori, wife of Paul Christy of Schwenksville, PA, Anthony III, husband of Lynn Mungin of Pottstown, PA, Andrew, husband of Danielle Mungin of Royersford, PA, Ronald Mungin of Royersford, PA, Scott Mungin of Philadelphia, PA, Joshua, husband of Sheryl Mungin of Spring City, PA, Christopher Mungin of Spring City, PA, Daniel Mungin of Spring City, PA, Ashley Mungin of Royersford, PA, Tara Mungin of Royersford, PA, Kaylee Mungin of Pottstown, PA, and Michael Mungin of Royersford, PA; twelve grandchildren; and two sisters, Margaret Henkel of Pottstown, PA and Rose, wife of Daniel Stauffer of Pottstown, PA. Relatives and friends are invited to attend his funeral ceremony at the Cattermole-Klotzbach Funeral Home, 600 Washington Street, Royersford, PA on Friday, January 3, 2019 at 11:00 AM. Officiating will be Rev. Reid Trulson. Burial will be held privately. Friends will be received from 9:00 AM - 11:00 AM at the funeral home.
