Anthony Vattimo Jr., age 80, husband of Beverly K. (Pippert) Vattimo of Phoenixville, PA, formerly, Columbia, MD, Chicago, IL, Louisville, KY, Detroit, MI, and Pittsburgh, PA, passed away on Monday, February 5, 2024 in the Arden Courts of King of Prussia. Born on January 12, 1944, in Stowe Township, PA, he was a son of the late Mary (Kulick) and Anthony Vattimo Sr.

Having spent around 50 years in the elevator industry, Anthony started learning his trade in the drafting room and worked his way to become President and owner of Technical Inspection of D.C., Inc., Columbia, MD; a company he founded with his wife in the early 90s.

Anthony met his wife in Saginaw, MI when he showed up at the hospital Beverly worked at, to find out why she called to cancel the elevator service contract of the company he worked for. Through his persistence, he not only won back the contract, but he finally won a date with Beverly, which led to 46 years of marriage.

Anthony and Beverly's first and only child together was born in Schaumburg, IL in 1984. Anthony and Beverly also helped to raise together his two sons. On December 17, 1989, Anthony and Beverly moved to Columbia, MD and planted their roots, before opening their business, which they ran together for approximately 30 years. Anthony was so proud of their company, and was recognized as one of the top elevator consultants in the world. He was an expert in his field and highly sought after for his knowledge of vertical transportation. Some of his accomplishments include consulting on the elevator and escalator design and specifications for Ford's Field in Detroit; the Baltimore-Washington International Airport; and many government buildings, including several international embassies.

He was a member of the Boaz Masonic Home Lodge #850 of Louisville, KY (F. & A.M.). He was a huge fan of music. Sharing music was a special bond he had with his daughter, Nicole; and which ignited a passion in her that led her to sing in her own band. He loved boating and being anywhere near the water. He and Beverly owned boats together and spent much special time on the bay, traveling to different marinas up and down the Chesapeake. Anyone who knew Tony, knew he had a unique and dark sense of humor. He was always ready with a joke or comeback, even if it may not have been the most appropriate time. But, that was just him.

Anthony always supported his family with anything they wanted to pursue. He was an incredibly hard worker, often in service of providing the best for his family. If it were possible, he would have put 9 days in a week. His wife remembers him as an incredible provider who worked harder and longer than anyone to better his family's situation.

Even as his memory was fading, he would have a huge smile waiting when his daughter entered the room, and still managed to pick on his son-in-law. How very on-brand for Tony.

In addition to his loving wife, Anthony is survived by his children: Anthony Vattimo III, and his wife Debra, Joseph Vattimo, and Nicole Vattimo, wife of William Forbes; grandchildren: Anthony IV, Jonathan, Nicholas, Samantha and Chase; sister-in-law: Sally Vattimo; two nieces: Christa Vattimo and Kala Williamson, and his nephew: Shane Vattimo; and fur-grandchild: Boo. He was preceded in death by his brothers: Ronald and Keith Vattimo.
