R. Arlene Quay, 88, wife of the late Horace E. Quay, of Oaks, passed away on Monday, September 26, 2016 in Manatawny Manor. Born on October 6, 1927 in Phoenixville, she was a daughter of the late Anne E. (Biggam) and J. Harvey Gebhardt.
Mrs. Quay retired from Penco Products where she worked for numerous years in the accounting department. She was a member of Green Tree Church of the Brethren, a member of the Lamplighters, which met at Calvary Bible Church in Phoenixville, and was a life member of the ladies Auxiliary at Oaks Fire Co. She was a volunteer at Phoenixville Hospital, enjoyed sewing and loved to travel the world. Most importantly, she loved spending time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Mrs. Quay is survived by two daughters: Joan A., wife of Clifford Horton of Montoursville and Judy L. Smith, fiance of Harry Rhoda, of Phoenixville; two sons: Edwin C., husband of Susan Quay, of Phoenixville and David A., husband of Kimberly Quay, of Collegeville, PA; nine grandchildren; ten great-grandchildren; three sisters: Sara Jane Tyrpin, of Fredericksburg, Barbara Ann Mossie, of Oaks and Helen Joan Turner, of Oaks. Mrs. Quay was preceded in death by sisters: Dorothy Huber and Elizabeth Kling.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend her funeral service at Green Tree Church of the Brethren, 1078 Egypt Road, Oaks, PA on Monday, October 3, 2016 at 11:00 am. Officiating will be Rev. J. Rodney O'Donnell. Interment will follow in the Green Tree Cemetery. Friends will be received from 9:30 am - 10:45 am Monday at the church.
