Arthur W. "Bill" Thim, Sr., 81, husband of Charlotte V. (Douglass) Thim, of Harleysville, formerly Oaks, passed away on Tuesday, September 9, 2008, in the Peter Becker Community.? Born in Plymouth Meeting, he was a son of the late Melville and Margaret (Hewitt) Thim.?
Mr. Thim served in the United States Navy during World War II, and was employed as a steamfitter in the Local 420 Steamfitters Union.? He was a member of Green Tree Church of the Brethren, the Warren Lodge No. 310 F&AM Collegeville, the Tall Cedars of Lebanon Forest No. 31 Norristown, the Oaks Fire Co., and a life member of the Trappe VFW No 7155.?
In addition to his loving wife of 59 years, Mr. Thim is survived by daughter Darlene, wife of Michael Pastrick, of Phoenixville, sons Bruce, husband of Barbara Thim, of North Coventry, Edward, husband of Kathi Thim, of Pottstown, and Arthur W., Jr., husband of Lisa Thim of Lansdale, sisters Marge, wife of Joe?McCoach, of Gilbertsville and Sandy, wife of Bob?Hagarty, of Ridley Park,?brother?Bob, husband of Barbara?Thim, of Florida,?step-sister?Patricia Adams, of Delaware, 9 grandchildren, and 5 great-grandchildren.?
Relatives and friends are invited to attend the funeral service at the Green Tree Church of the Brethren, 1078 Egypt Road, Oaks, PA, on Saturday, September 13, 2008 at 11:30 am.? Officiating will be the Rev. David A. Leiter.? Interment will follow in the Church Cemetery.? Friends may call from 10-11:30 am at the Church.?
