Arthur Lee Shephard, age 91, husband of the late Eva M. (Cook) Shephard, of East Coventry, passed away on Monday, November 30, 2015 in the Manatawny Manor. Born on September 23, 1924 in Whitetop, Virginia, he was a son of the late Isaac and Georgia (Jones) Shephard.

Mr. Shephard served in the Army during World War II. He was a Purple Heart recipient from wounds he sustained during the Battle of the Bulge on December 23, 1944 in Belgium. Mr. Shephard worked as a service technician and driver for the Schuylkill Valley Oil Company from 1956-1985. Following his retirement, he worked for the Kutz Tree Farm in South Coventry. He was a member of the Ridge Fire Company and Brownback's United Church of Christ in Spring City, where he served on the Consistory, was a greeter, and held various other positions. Mr. Shephard enjoyed the outdoors, hunting, and fishing in New York and Lake Ontario for the largest lake trout.

Mr. Shephard is survived by several nieces and nephews. In addition to his wife, he was preceded in death by three siblings, Dorothy Reedy, Paul Shephard, and Ralph Shephard.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend the Funeral Ceremony at Brownback's United Church of Christ, 640 RIdge Road, Spring City, Pennsylvania on Monday, December 7, 2015 at 11:00 AM. Officiating will be Rev. Ray Jachowski. Burial will be held in the Brownback's United Church of Christ Cemetery. Friends will be received from 9:00 AM - 10:45 AM at the church .
