Obituary

Atanasio Fajardo, 90, of Worcester, passed away on Tuesday, July 07, 2009, in his residence. He was the husband of the late Adelina Fajardo. Born in Cienfuegos, Cuba, he was a son of the late Atanasio Fajardo and Marina Toledo.

Dr. Fajardo was a 1944 graduate of the University of Havana Medical School. He was a physician in Cardiology and later in emergency medicine in Cuba and later for 20 years in Michigan. He was a member of the Rotary International in Cuba and Miami and was also a Free and Accepted Mason. He enjoyed reading and computers and collected matchbooks and sand from beaches all over the world.

Dr. Fajardo is survived by two daughters, Lilliam, wife of Bill Kingsbury, of Phoenixville and Lissette, wife of Ken MacFarlane, of Cologne, Germany, two sons, Mario, husband of Lynn Fajardo, of San Francisco, CA, and Raul Enrique, husband of Judie Fajardo, of Chicago, IL, companion, Jeanne Ferrier, thirteen grandchildren and seventeen great-grandchildren.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend his Funeral Mass at St. Ann R.C. Church, Main Street at Third Avenue, Phoenixville, on Friday, July 10, 2009, at 10:00 a.m. Officiating will be the Rev. William Donnelly. Interment will follow in the St. Ann Cemetery. Friends will be received from 9:30-10:00 a.m. at the Church. Memorial contributions may be made in his name to the Benevolent Fund at Meadowood Retirement Community, 3205 Skippack Pike, Worcester, PA 19490. Services are being handled by the Campbell-Ennis-Klotzbach Funeral Home, Inc., Phoenixville. Condolences may be offered online at www.PhoenixvilleFuneralHome.com
