Barbara Jean "Bobbie" Doughty, age 91, wife of the late Frederic C. Doughty, passed away on Saturday, February 18, 2023 at her home in Phoenixville. Born on February 4, 1932 in St. Petersburg, FL, she was the daughter of the late Joseph J. and Rachel Z. (Chamberlain) Shea.

Bobbie & Fred got married in 1952 in Florida and then settled in Pennsylvania where the Doughty family was based. They lived for nearly 50 years on Valley Forge Mountain where she focused her attention on her family, lovingly caring for them and her home. She was an avid gardener and longtime member of the Covered Bridge Garden Club, where she had served as a Past-President. She also had an affection for animals & reading, and she was an active member of the Cold Stream Crossing Book Club. Later in life she enjoyed boating with her husband and friends on the Chesapeake Bay, and she once served as Commander of the Main Line Sail and Power Squadron.

Bobbie is survived by her two children, Denise R., wife of Harold Cheney and Frederic C. Doughty; and many nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in her name to the charitable organization of your choice.
