Obituary

Barbara Mae (Boyer) Rumsey, age 91, wife of the late Rev. Hubert M. Rumsey, of Collegeville, Pennsylvania, passed away peacefully Tuesday, January 7, 2020 at her home surrounded by her loving family. Born on March 27, 1928 in Detroit, Michigan, she was a daughter of the late Frederick & Florence (Parkins) Boyer.

Barbara was a 1945 graduate of Lincoln High School in Ferndale Michigan. She would later go on to receive her bachelor degree in Biblical Education from Columbia Bible College in South Carolina. She and her husband served as missionaries to France from 1957‑1966. Barbara was also a dedicated member of Grace Bible Church for over 30 years. She spent much of her time teaching the children, then served as the Bible teacher for the women’s Bible study. Most of all, Mrs. Rumsey loved spending time with her family: traveling, baking, sewing clothes, gardening, giving a listening ear and wise counsel, supporting with prayers. She was a loving mother, grandmother, sister, and dear friend to all and she will be missed by many.

Mrs. Rumsey is survived by her five children, Stephen M. (Paula) Rumsey, David M. Rumsey, Paul A. Rumsey, Cynthia Rumsey, and Carole L. Rumsey, two grandsons, Shaun E. Rumsey and Parker R. T. Terrill, and one brother, Frederick Boyer.
