Basil C. Barchuk, age 51, husband of Hannah (Biddle) Barchuk, of Charlestown Township, passed away on Tuesday, May 19, 2026 at home following a brave and courageous battle against frontal lobe dementia and Bulbar ALS. Born on September 10, 1974 in Daytona Beach, FL, he was a son of Anthony and Margaret (Penn) Barchuk of New Jersey.

In addition to his wife of 23 years, Basil is survived by two sons, Daniel and Julian; two sisters, Alexis Whitzell and Allyson Kalvonjian; several nieces and nephews; his mother, Margaret Barchuk, his in-laws, Mary and Peyton Biddle; and his sister-in-law, Barbara Biddle.

Basil was a graduate of Kingsway High School in Swedesboro, NJ, and he received his bachelor's degree in geography from West Chester University.

Along with his wife, whom he married in 2003 in Upper Saranac Lake, he found peace and comfort spending time in the Adirondacks and while being at the beach and in the ocean in Stone Harbor, NJ.

Sports played an integral role in Basil's life. He was a standout football player during his time at West Chester University, and he eventually made his way back briefly as a respected football coach for Kingsway High School. He was an avid cyclist, biking miles upon miles on the Schuylkill River Trail and participating in the City to Shore rides. Julian took after his father and joined a mountain biking team, which Basil occasionally volunteered to help with. Julian's races became a favorite family event. Basil loved watching Julian race, and he was in awe of his son.

As an advocate for Daniel and others with special needs, Basil coached Daniel, in multiple disciplines, including acting as a helper and assistant in the Challenger Baseball League. Additionally, he enjoyed supporting and cheering for Daniel at his Special Olympics events.

He cherished time spent with his family. He was a fantastic father to his two amazing boys, soulmate, best friend, and husband to Hannah, and he was a wonderful uncle and great friend. He genuinely enjoyed being with and around the people he loved. Basil will most be remembered as a quiet, yet impactful, man. He was loyal, kind, and supportive, he gave the most loving comforting hugs and shared his contagious laugh with others.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend a visitation for Basil at the Campbell-Ennis-Klotzbach Funeral Home, Inc., 610 Main Street, Phoenixville, PA on Friday, June 19, 2026 from 9:00 am - 11:00 am, with a eulogy taking place at 10:30 am.
