Beatrice V. (Quay) Slaughter, 87, wife of the late Robert W. Slaughter, of Little Egg Harbor Township, NJ, formerly Royersford, PA, passed away on Saturday, September 21, 2013, at her daughter’s residence. Born in Phoenixville, she was a daughter of the late Ralph and Elizabeth Ann (Brownback) Quay.

Mrs. Slaughter was a 1943 graduate of the former Spring City High School and had been employed in the administrative offices of the former Pennhurst State School. She was a member of First United Church of Christ in Spring City while living in Pennsylvania. She enjoyed baseball, hockey and football and especially loved going to Phillies, Flyers and Eagles games.

Mrs. Slaughter is survived by her daughter, Susan, wife of James Fryer Jr., of Little Egg Harbor, NJ, two sisters, Doris Walters and Lorraine Filoreto, three grandchildren, Ryan Fryer, Amber Fryer and Amy Dion, six great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

A graveside service will be held on Thursday, October 3, 2013, at 11:00 a.m. at Zion Lutheran Church Cemetery, Spring City. Officiating will be the Rev. Erick J.
