Bernice Grace Hornberger (Himes) age 87, passed away peacefully surrounded by her family on Friday, October 25, 2024. She was born on April 21,1937 in McClure, PA to the late Sherman and Margaret Himes.
Bernice was a loving mother, sister, grandmother, and great-grandmother. She resided most of her life in Spring City and Upper Providence, PA as well as Coral Springs, FL. In her last years and months she lived at Hopewell Manor in Elverson, PA. Her final days leading up to her passing brought her back to Royersford, PA.
She worked most of her life at SMS (Shared Medical Systems), Siemens Medical, and various part-time accounting positions. She was a member of Washington Memorial Chapel in Valley Forge, PA. Bernice was an amazing cook and baker. Her home cooked meals always put a smile on her family and friends faces.
Bernice was the best mom and Nanny anyone could ask for. She is survived by daughters Diane Snyder (wife of Christopher) of Royersford, PA and Victoria Cooney (wife of James) of Gilbertsville, PA. In addition to her daughters she is also survived by granddaughters Carly Gerhard (wife of Keith), Kimberly Snyder (partner of Martin Regan), and Taylar Stover (wife of Michael). Grandsons CJ Snyder and JD Cooney (husband of Alexa). Great-grandsons Bryce Gerhard, Dillon Stover, and Rory Stover. And one great-granddaughter, Shea Cooney.
Bernice leaves behind sisters Marie Pick, Janice Moore, and Pearl Strickland and brothers Dennis Himes, Butch Himes, and Ken Himes. She also leaves behind many nieces and nephews.
A celebration of life will be held privately with immediate family only.
