Obituary

Betty M. (Carl) Hilberg, age 64, wife of the late Warren H. Hilberg, Jr. and longtime companion of Keith Pufko, of Phoenixville, PA, passed away on Thursday, August 7, 2025 in the Phoenixville Hospital. Born on May 9, 1961 in Phoenixville, PA, she was the daughter of the late Joseph "Pete" and Vita (Rizzo) Carl.

Betty was born in Phoenixville, but raised in Brooklyn, NY, where she completed her schooling and graduated from FDR High School. She went on to receive her bachelor's degree from Immaculata University. She worked as a preschool education teacher, and her career led her to the Technical College High School in Phoenixville, the Chester County Intermediate Unit's Head Start program, and most recently Bright Futures Early Learning Academy in Phoenixville.

Betty was a past firefighter for Black Rock Volunteer Fire Company in Oaks. Known to enjoy her Whiskey Wednesday, Thirsty Thursday, and so on, she held social memberships at Friendship Fire Company in Phoenixville, West End Fire Company in Phoenixville, and the Polish Club. She enjoyed attending many events throughout the years at the Reading Motorcycle Club. Most of all, she was a loving grandmother who cherished spending time with her family and grandchildren.

Betty is survived by her two daughters, Chelsea, wife of Colby Mross and Rebecca, wife of Cory Chance; seven grandchildren, Taylor, Colby, Lucy, Emily, Warren, Charlotte, and Grace; and mother-in-law, Sherlee Hilberg, wife of the late Warren H. Hilberg, Sr.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend her funeral service at Campbell-Ennis-Klotzbach Funeral Home, Inc, 610 Main Street, Phoenixville, Pennsylvania on Friday, August 15, 2025 at 11:00 AM. Officiating will be Deacon Mark Szewczak. Burial will follow in the St. Ann Cemetery, Phoenixville, PA. Friends will be received from 9:30 AM-11:00 AM at the funeral home on Friday morning.
