Obituary

Betty Jane (Dix) Murphy, 74, of Elverson, passed away on Sunday, November 15, 2009, in the St. Joseph Medical Center, Reading. She was the wife of the late Lawrence E. Murphy Jr. Born in Phoenixville, she was a daughter of the late Richard and Helen Dix.

Mrs. Murphy was a group leader at Uniform Tube and a member of the Spring City First United Church of Christ. She was involved in the Spring City American Legion Thomas W. O'Conner Post 602 Ladies Auxiliary, enjoyed bus trips and the casinos. She loved spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren and enjoyed her animals and cats. Betty also loved to play cards with her sister and aunt and also loved reading.

Mrs. Murphy is survived by three daughters, Kathleen C., wife of Andrew J. Natale Jr., of Elverson, Eileen M. Wagner, of Reading, and Shawnann, wife of Steven T. Witycyak, of West Lawn, two sons, Lawrence L., husband of Kathleen Murphy, of Collegeville, and Daniel D. Murphy, of Reading, two sisters, Dorothy Pusch, of Pottstown, and Sandra Zimba, of Spring City, thirteen grandchildren and six great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her brother Richard Dix.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend her memorial service at the Cattermole-Klotzbach Funeral Home, 600 Washington Street, Royersford, on Saturday, November 21, 2009, at 10:00 a.m. Officiating will be the Rev. Erick J. Kern Jr. Inurnment will follow in the Keelor's Union Cemetery, Obelisk. Friends will be received from 9:30-10:00 a.m. Flowers and planters would be appreciated and enjoyed by many.
