Betty Ann (Stepp) Wlazelek, age 89, wife of the late Frank J. Wlazelek, of Linfield, Pennsylvania, passed away on Monday, October 3, 2022 at home surrounded by family. Born on December 23, 1932 in Honey Brook, she was a daughter of the late Frances A. (Cunningham) and Larry Stepp.
A 1950 graduate of Pottstown High School, Betty Ann had been employed as a seamstress in various knitting mills before becoming a full time housewife. An accomplished seamstress, she enjoyed sewing, made many costumes for her daughter's dance recitals and also made curtains and slipcovers to help support the family. She later became a successful antique dealer.
Betty Ann kept an immaculate home and was always the "grandmother," taking care of everyone. She loved Christmas time, because while growing up poor, her mother always made it a special holiday filled with tradition. She also loved Thanksgiving because it was her husband's favorite holiday and keeping the family traditions were important to her. Betty Ann also enjoyed a coconut cake for her birthday each year.
Betty Ann was also involved with the Limerick Township Historical Society.
Mrs. Wlazelek is survived by a son: Chad, wife of Susan Wlazelek, of Boyertown; daughter: Tara Soler, of Linfield, PA; granddaughters: Lauren Wlazelek and Jordan Elizabeth Soler; and sister: Edith Arlene Olson, of Hilton Head, SC. In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by a son: Todd Wlazelek; brother: William Lee Stepp; and sister: Sandra Jean Neilsen.
A visitation will be held on Thursday, October 13, 2022, from 2:00 -3:00 pm at the Cattermole - Klotzbach Funeral Home, 600 Washington Street, Royersford. Interment will be held privately in the St. Aloysius Cemetery. A time of fellowship and refreshment will be held on Sunday, November 27, 2022 from 2:00 - 5:00 pm at Betty Ann's residence.
